Jacaranda Clubhouse would like to thank Zurich for their kind donation of tickets to the Roar VS Newcastle game at Suncorp. We all had a fantastic time with most people attending having never had the opportunity to go to Suncorp Stadium before.
Jacaranda Clubhouse’s new business partnership fundraising program was successfully launched on Tuesday night during an open air dinner at Nolan’s Plaza in the heart of Ipswich.
Attended by Mayoress Janet Pisasale, Federal MP Shayne Neumann, and State Member for West Ipswich Sean Choat, the dinner not only showcased the talents of the local Charity’s Food Services Unit but launched Jacaranda’s brand new charity website https://www.jacarandaclubhouse.com.au
The fundraising program aims to raise money for projects that will directly improve the lives of adults recovering from mental illness. Jacaranda Ipswich Director, Ms Nicky Sullivan said, “Clubhouse seeks to partner with businesses interested in strategic alliances.”
With experienced business consultants Charlie Maiden and Gary Weigh designing and leading the campaign, local businesses getting on board can expect tangible philanthropic benefits from such an alliance. These include tax deductibility, peer networking and opportunities through project sponsorship.
In his dinner address, Gary Weigh said, “Research shows that the trend in fundraising is moving away from traditional tin-rattling campaigns. Donors want to give on their terms. They want choice, transparency, convenience and feedback; and not to be barraged with calls and mail in return for their generosity.”
Mr Weigh went on to say that, “Peer to peer fundraising gives donors exactly what they want. This type of fundraising allows donors to see exactly where their money is going. Instead of person to organisation giving, a donor gives directly to the projects the organisation undertakes and the people it helps.”
So instead of setting a dollar target, Jacaranda Clubhouse has broken it down into a variety of projects that will directly involve and assist its members. It also allows donors to choose a project they identify with.
The hallmark project is the creation of the “Jacaranda Flour” lunchtime restaurant in the adjacent tenancy at Nolan’s Plaza. Because it was formerly approved as a restaurant, all it needs is painting, floor polishing and a kitchen-dining room refit. It will seat 90 people and offer a two course lunch for $15 and a takeaway for $10. It will be all healthy and nutritious food for hungry city workers.
Nicky Sullivan said that it will be manor from heaven to have a working restaurant as a real life training ground to up-skill members to work readiness. We will repay the community’s generosity with fantastic dine-in and takeaway food.
Thank you very much to all the staff, family and Clubhouse friends who prepared and served the delicious food
